Lago d’Iseo, BS – 2013
Il progetto del giardino parte dagli elementi esistenti e caratterizzanti il sito: un’architettura moderna e dai volumi decisi, la presenza di sei esemplari di Olea europea e il paesaggio circostante con il lago d’Iseo sullo sfondo, Il disegno del giardino si sviluppa lungo ipotetiche fasce orizzontali che seguono l’andamento dell’edificio e della piscina, inglobandone i volumi rettangolari. Il viale d’accesso è realizzato da una serie di fasce di pietra grigia e bianca che si susseguono ritmicamente dal cancello in corten fino all’abitazione. Gli ulivi esistenti vengono tutti mantenuti e valorizzati, alcuni delimitati da fasce rettangolari di ghiaia nera, altri accompagnati da rose bianche e piante aromatiche. La scelta botanica approfitta del clima mite del lago: Pinus pinea, Cupressus sempervirens e Nerium oleander rinforzano la barriera verde lungo il confine; Chamaerops excelsa segnano l’ingresso alla proprietà e incorniciano l’edificio. L’area della piscina è parzialmente schermata alla vista da i volumi fluttuanti della Calamagrostis abbinata alla Verbena bonariensis. Bordi in acciaio corten contengono il dislivello tra l’ingresso e l’area piscina, permettendo di creare una zona a prato ampia e pianeggiante, vicino alla casa.
| The project of the garden comes from the existing elements, characterizing the site: a modern architecture by decisive volumes, the presence of six Olea europea and the surrounding landscape with ‘Iseo Lake’ in background, The garden design is developed along hypothetical horizontal bands that follow the shapes of the building and the pool, incorporating the rectangular volumes. The driveway is a rhythmic succesion of bands of gray and white stone from the corten gate up to the house. Existing olive trees are all maintained and enhanced, some delimited by rectangular bands of black sand, others surrounded by white roses and aromatic plants. The botanic selection takes advantage of the mild climate of the lake: Pinus pinea, Cupressus sempervirens and Nerium oleander reinforce the green barrier along the border; Chamaerops excelsa mark the entrance to the property and frame the building. The fluctuating volumes of Calamagrostis combined with Verbena bonariensis partially screen the pool area. Corten steel edges contain the difference in level between the entrance and the pool area, allowing to create a wide and flat lawn area, close to the house.
